Stronger Academia-Industry Ties Needed for Job Creation: Experts
Swabi: Feb 26. Experts at a career fair at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) urged the government to take practical steps to strengthen collaboration between universities and industries, calling it essential for economic growth and employment opportunities.
The event, attended by over 130 national and multinational companies, provided students with a platform to interact with recruiters and explore career prospects.
Schlumberger Managing Director Zaurayze Tariq, the chief guest, highlighted the fair’s role in connecting graduates with employers and industry trends. He also visited advanced labs, appreciating GIKI’s focus on practical learning.
Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Hasan Zaidi emphasized the need for academia and industry to align their goals for national progress. He thanked corporate partners for supporting young professionals in shaping their careers.
