Following the directive of the IG Motorways, police have become active.
According to details (Islamabad), under the special instructions of Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police, Rafat Mukhtar Raja, a special campaign against speeding has been launched. As per the instructions, drivers speeding at 150 kilometers per hour or more on the motorway will face an FIR and legal action, and their vehicles will also be impounded. Generally, the speed limit on the motorway is 120 kilometers per hour for cars, jeeps, and LTV vehicles, and 110 kilometers per hour for heavy transport vehicles and passenger service vehicles (PSVs). No leniency will be shown in case of violations. It is important to note that there are also specific locations on the motorways where the speed limit is further reduced, and these are indicated by traffic signs. These measures have been taken to reduce accidents and ensure the safety of road users.
