Swabi Police Arrest Two in Fake Robbery Case Involving Usury and Fraudulent Dealings
Swabi: March 5. SHO Chota Lahore, Taimoor Saleem Khan, along with his police team, successfully apprehended two individuals involved in filing a false robbery report and illegal money lending (usury). The police recovered Rs. 984,000 from the accused.
According to the details, the main suspect, Sajjad Khan, had purchased six motorcycles on credit from Israr, amounting to Rs. 800,000. He had paid Rs. 200,000 in cash and agreed on a time frame to clear the remaining Rs. 600,000. However, Israr later illegally demanded Rs. 1,000,000 instead of the original amount, adding an unlawful interest of Rs. 400,000.
Unable to pay the additional amount, Sajjad Khan faked a robbery to mislead his family and authorities. He falsely reported to the police that he had been robbed of Rs. 1,000,000 at gunpoint.
During a press conference, DSP Lahore Muhammad Iqbal Khan, alongside SHO Taimoor Saleem Khan, revealed the details of the case. The police investigation exposed the truth, leading to the arrest of Israr, son of Shah Nazar, a resident of Nabi Lahore.
Both suspects are now in custody, and the authorities have recovered Rs. 984,000 from them. The police have vowed to take strict action against illegal money lending and fraudulent financial dealings.
