Crackdown on Electricity Theft: 18 Industrial Power Looms Caught Stealing Electricity in Odero Lal Subdivision
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) In a major operation against electricity theft, the Director of Surveillance & Investigation, HESCO, Ijaz Ahmed Shaikh, along with his team, conducted inspections in the Odero Lal subdivision and discovered 18 industrial power looms involved in electricity theft.
According to a HESCO spokesperson, the operation was carried out under the directives of Chief Executive Officer Faizullah Dahri. During the inspection, multiple connections were found tampered with using various illegal methods, including shunt devices, display tampering, defective meter stoppages, blue phase bypass, CT faults, and meter tempering.
The identified connections include reference numbers 27373330405500B1b(09)T, 27373330394000-B1b(9)T, 27373330407740B1b(09)T, 27373330395770B1b(09), among others. Following the discovery, the M&T and Operations teams were instructed to take immediate action per existing regulations. The illegal connections were disconnected on-site, and fines were imposed on the violators.
HESCO has urged the public to support its efforts in eliminating electricity theft and to pay their electricity bills on time. The company emphasized that as a commercial entity, it relies on bill payments to sustain its operations and improve service delivery. More such crackdowns are expected to ensure a fair and uninterrupted power supply.
