Protest by Students and Teachers of Sindhi Main School Tando Adam Against Canal Construction from Indus River
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Students and teachers at Government Sindhi Main Primary School Tando Adam staged a strong protest against the construction of six new canals from the Indus River.
According to details, the school’s headmaster, Lakhadino Khaskheli, along with other teachers and students, initiated the protest during the morning assembly. The protesters raised slogans such as “No to Indus River Looting” and “Reject All Canals.”
Addressing the gathering, Headmaster Lakhadino Khaskheli stated that the Indus River is a lifeline for the people of Sindh. He warned that extracting additional canals from the river would turn Sindh’s fertile lands barren, severely affecting agriculture.
The protesters further pointed out that Sindh is already facing severe water scarcity, with drought-like conditions prevailing in 40 districts. They claimed that opening more canals would worsen the situation and was part of a conspiracy to dry up Sindh’s lands.
The demonstrators demanded that the plan to construct six new canals from the Indus River be immediately canceled to protect Sindh’s agricultural future.
