Resolution adopted for restoration of medical seats: Resolution regarding issuance of fishermen cards for fishermen of Balochistan approved
Deputy Speaker provincial assembly summons SGGSC and QESCO chiefs on issues of gas & electricity’s load shedding
QUETTA:The Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Ms. Ghazala Gola summoned the General Manager of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Chief Executive Officer of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) on the issue of gas and electricity issues in the province.
The Deputy Speaker was chairing the session of provincial assembly here on Friday. She actually responded to the request made by the Member Provincial Assembly belonging to PPP, Ali Madad Jatak.
Mr. Jatak, in his point of order, pointed out that the load shedding of electricity and sui gas is continued even in the month of Ramadanul Mubarak.
He said that the gas and electricity is not made available to the people at times of Sehri and Aftari. He urged the chair to summon the GM of SSGC and CEO of QESCO on the related issues.
Speaking on the point of order, MPA Asghar Tareen said that water is not available in the homes due to suspension of the electricity.
He said that those officers who can’t provide facilities to the masses have not right to hold the positions.
The MPA Mir Zabid Reki pointed out zero point is not being opened in Mashkail area for last several months.
He said that other borders along the province have been opened, bur our border is still closed. On this, the Provincial Minister Finance, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani said that his area is also affected due to the situation, so we would resolve the issue sitting together.
The MPA Abdul Majeed Badini pointed out that the zakat amount is not being paid to the deserving people for last couple of years.
He pleaded that the amount of zakat should be distributed through Deputy Commissioners of respective districts.
Meanwhile, a resolution was tabled regarding issuance of fishermen cards for fishermen of the province.
The resolution tabled by the MPA Maulana Hidatyatur Rehman Baloch was approved in the assembly.
Another resolution was also adopted for taking steps for restoration of the seats quota of Balochistan in the medical colleges.
The resolution tabled by the MPA Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Kibzai demanded of the provincial government to approach the federal government for restoration of the quota of seats for students of the province. In the resolution, it was mentioned that the medical seats for students of the province of Balochistan and FATA have been decreased to 194 from 333.
However, the call attention notice tabled by Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch about making the fisheries training center in Gwadar functional was deferred due to the absence of concerned Provincial Minister.
Earlier, the members of assembly belonging to the Opposition staged walk out from the session on the issue of absence of provincial ministers. Their plea was that their questions are not responded due to absence of the concerned ministers.
Later, the session of provincial assembly was adjourned till 02:30 PM on March 17, 2025.
