Five killed, 35 injured in blast near bus on Nushki Dalbandin highway

Spokesman of Balochistan Government says four terrorists attacking bus neutralized; search operation started against terrorists in area

QUETTA: At least five people including three security personnel were killed and 35 injured in a blast took place near a passenger bus on Nushki-Dalbandin highway on Sunday morning.
According to the reports reaching here, a convey of buses was on its way to Dalbandin, Taftan when it was hit by a heavy explosive laden vehicle killing five persons and causing injuries to 35 others.
The security forces and rescue teams rushed towards the spot and cordoned off the area.
The injured were immediately shifted to the teaching Hospital Noshki soon after the explosion, where an emergency was declared to handle the situation.
The police said that several of the wounded were in critical condition.
While on the other hand, security forces cordoned off the area, and investigations are underway. Furthermore, as per the police, the injured were shifted to Quetta by helicopters.
Regarding the Noshki incident, the spokesman informed that the terrorists rammed the explosive material laden vehicle in the bus. As a result of which three personnel and two civilians were killed. However, the forces quickly retaliated and killed four terrorists foiling their nefarious designs.
He said that the incident is continuation of the nefarious acts continued by the terrorists in Balochistan. He said that the entire area has been cordoned off and clearance operation started in the area. Besides, search operation has also been started against the terrorists.
Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed sorrow while condemning the targeting of innocent people — terming it as extreme brutality.
The security czar also wished for speedy recovery of the injured.
Needless to mention here is that the incident comes days after a major terrorist attack in the Mushqaf area of the Kachhi district in Balochistan, along with Khybe Pakhtunkhwa, faced the brunt of terrorist attacks — with both provinces accounting for over 96% of terrorist attacks and deaths in Pakistan in 2024 as per a Global Terrorism Index 2025 report.
