Projects of Rs. 200 billion in progress in Gwadar: Gwadar airport, Expressway & Free zone included in CPEC project, Buledi tells BA session

MPA Maulana Hidyatur Rehman Baloch charges people of Balochistan cheated in name of CPEC; says not a single kilometer road has been built in province under CPEC; Minister Finance says MPAs are confused on CPEC

 

QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has mentioned that the Gwadar airport, Expressway and Free zone are included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while some more projects are under consideration under the project.
Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi was responding to the call attention notice of the MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman during the session of provincial assembly here on Monday.
The session was held with Speaker, Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai in the chair after break of couple of days.
The Provincial Minister Planning and Development maintained that projects of Rs. 200 billion are in progress in Gwadar. While China has gifted us the Pak-China hospital in Gwadar, he mentioned adding that similarly, China ha also given us four / five projects.
In his call attention notice, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman pointed out that the people of Balochistan have been cheated in the name of CPEC and alleged that not a single kilometer road has been built under the project.
He said that had there would not have been Gwadar and Balochistan, then CPEC would have not exist.
He said that while CPEC is for Balochistan, but projects are made in Lahore, and so the Orange line train.
He stressed that the motorway should have been started from Gwadar.
The MPA and former Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that neither he made sign regarding CPEC nor he knows about the project.
He said that he doesn’t know even that which grant is included in building of the Gwadar airport. He said that no new berth was constructed in Gwadar under CPEC.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch added that more projects have been made by the federal and provincial governments in Gwadar while Chinese government didn’t make more projects.
The leader of Opposition, Mir Younas Aziz Zehri said that if today Balochistan is burning, it is due to CPEC.
He said that the sacrifices were rendered by us for CPEC, but its benefits are being enjoyed by others.
The MPA belonging to ANP, Zamarak Khan Achakzai stressed that we have to wage struggle for CPEC together.
Speaking on the call attention notice, Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani said that the members of assembly are confused on the CPEC.
He said that the members of assembly may witness the CPEC projects after visiting Gwadar, then they may speak on them visiting Islamabad.
Later, the session was adjourned till March 20.
