Terrorists wanting to divide nation to be defeated at all costs: Balochistan closer to heart; wants development & sustainable peace in province, says President Zardari
QUETTA: The President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that Balochistan is closer to his heart and he wants development and sustainable peace in the province.
The President Zardari was chairing an important meeting on the law and order situation here on Wednesday.
The acting Governor and Speaker Provincial Assembly, Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police, Moazzam Jah Ansari and other high ups were present in the meeting.
The Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari especially participated in the meeting.
The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti briefed the meeting about situation of law and order in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, President said that we would defeat the terrorist elements at every cost.
He said that terrorists are wanting to divide the nation.
He said that the situation is clear which is that the state has to stay and we have to win the war against terrorism.
He said that the anti terrorism wing would be provided modern weapons to counter terrorism.
The President Zardari said that we want to see every child in the schools.
He stressed that it is need of the hour to get children acquainted with the modern technology.
Meanwhile, speaking to the members of assembly of the parliamentary parties, the President said that he has heartiest affection and longstanding relations with the people of Balochistan.
He said that development of the province and welfare of its people has always been his topmost priority. He mentioned that he granted autonomy to the provinces including Balochistan through 18th constitution amendment.
The President insisted that we have to take the country ahead with national solidarity as Pakistani.
He also said that we want to give rights to all, and don’t want to snatch the rights, adding he said that surely we would win the hearts of people by giving them due rights. He said that the measures of public welfare would be made fruitful for the province.
He said that we would take such steps for the province and its people which would be written in golden words in the annuls of history.
The President announced to hold camp in Balochistan where he would listen everyone.
During the course of meeting, leader of opposition in Balochistan Assembly, Mir Younas Aziz Zehri appreciated the measures taken by the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and assured wholehearted cooperation. Also present in the meeting were acting Governor Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti besides the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who especially participated in it.
The members of parliamentary parties also spoke about the issues and gave suggestions to address them.
The President Zardari arrived in the metropolis on Wednesday afternoon and left the same evening.
