Meeting chaired by Commissioner decides: Public transport not to be allowed to travel in night from Quetta
QUETTA: All the public transport would not be allowed to travel in the night from Quetta city. The timely departure of all buses and coaches would be ensured from the Quetta city keeping in view the protection, convenience and interest of public.
In addition to this, the trekkers would be installed, and CCTV cameras would be kept operational in all buses and coaches moving from Quetta.
These decisions were made in a meeting chaired by the Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat about the issues of transporters and matters related to departure of buses and coaches here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Commissioner Quetta, Agha Samiullah, Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Lt (Retd) Saad bin Asad, SSP Traffic, Behram Baloch, Secretary Provincial Transport Authority, Abdul Majeed, Secretary RTA, Ali Durrani and other concerned administrative officers and high ups. The local transporters were also present in the meeting.
It was informed that the coaches have permission to travel on N-50 and N-70 highways before evening. After that, they would be stopped, it was decided mentioning that these measures are being taken for safety of passengers and in view of the problems faced by the transporters.
Therefore, the transporters were asked to cooperate while implementing the government’s initiatives so as to ensure protection of the passengers.
