“Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force Launches Crackdown on Drug Smuggling, Arrests 10 Suspects”

Rawalpindi Mar. 24. In a nationwide operation, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 10 suspects and seized over 33.796 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 2 crores.

The crackdown, which involved nine separate raids, targeted drug smuggling in educational institutions and various cities across the country.

The ANF’s efforts led to significant seizures, including:

– 50 grams of cocaine from a Zimbabwean woman in Islamabad
– 1.750 kilograms of heroin from a woman departing for Maldives at Lahore International Airport
– 28 cocaine-filled capsules from a Nigerian national arriving from Dubai at Lahore Airport
– 460 grams of ice from a suspicious parcel at a courier office in Lahore
– 4.5 kilograms of heroin from a parcel destined for the UK at a courier office in Karachi
– 6 kilograms of charas from a woman and a suspect near the M-1 Motorway in Islamabad
– 14.4 kilograms of charas and 3.6 kilograms of opium from two suspects near the Sialkot Bypass in Gujranwala

The ANF’s crackdown on drug smuggling is part of a broader effort to combat narcotics trafficking in Pakistan. The force has been working to disrupt supply chains and arrest those involved in the illicit trade ¹.
