13 passengers dead & 1072 injured: Record 809 accidents occurred on highways during 1st week of April in Balochistan

QUETTA: A record number of 809 accidents were reported on different national highways in Balochistan during first week of April 2025.
According to the data shared by the Medical Emergency Response Centers (MERC) 1122 Balochistan, as many as 13 deaths were reported in the mishaps occurred on the highways. In addition to this, 1072 persons got injured in the road mishaps across the province.
The MERC data showed that all 809 accidents were responded and all 1072 injured in the road mishaps were treated at the MERCs.
As per the report, highest number of road accidents were reported at different sections of N-50 (Quetta-Zhob-DI Khan). On these sections of N-50, a total of 449 accidents were reported. While on N-25 (Quetta-Khuzdar-Karachi), a total of 257 accidents occurred.
Similarly, as many as 43 accidents were reported on N-70 (Killa Saifullah-Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan) and a total of 29 accidents were recorded at N-65 (Quetta-Sibi-Jaccobad-Sukkur). There was a total of 156 OPDs in the MERCs regarding the road mishaps.
