Lahore, April 08, 2025. Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that there should be a unanimous decision on the canal project. All political forces will have to forget their differences and unite to root out terrorism. The student union must be restored, but the culture of hooliganism will not be tolerated. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of journalists associated with education beat here at the Governor House Lahore today.

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the decision taken on the canal project by bringing all stake holders in the Council of Common Interests and consulting them would be better. He said that the Prime Minister should play his role on the canal project, and a unanimous decision should be made on it. The Punjab Governor said that Pakistan belongs to all of us and the Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch and Pathans living here are all Pakistanis. The Punjab Governor said that harassment, drugs and other illegal activities in universities will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that due to ban on the student union, there is a lack of leadership in politics. The Punjab Governor said that the health of President Asif Ali Zardari is improving and he will start performing his duties soon. He added that the country is currently facing various problems including terrorism. The Punjab Governor said that all parties will have to put aside their personal differences and unite to eradicate terrorism from the country.
