Karakoram International University Students Visit University of Malaya for Scientific and Cultural Exchange
Kuala Lumpur (PR): Students from Karakoram International University (KIU) undertook an informative visit to the Faculty of Science at the University of Malaya (UM). According to KIU’s Public Relations Department, a group of KIU students is currently studying for a semester at INTI International University in Malaysia under a semester exchange program. The visit was funded under UM’s Mobility Program, offering students a unique blend of academic and cultural experiences.
Upon arrival, the delegation, comprising students from KIU and INTI, was warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Siti Rohana Majid, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs at UM’s Faculty of Science. The visit was organized by Dr. Jariani Jani, Mobility Coordinator for the Chemistry Department, Professor Hanum, Mobility Coordinator for the Institute of Biology, and retired Professor Ruzha Hashim, Advisor.
During the visit, students explored key academic and cultural landmarks at UM, including the Geology Museum, UM Library, and the renowned Rimba Ilmu Botanical Garden. The students from KIU and INTI were also treated to a special Hari Raya Aidilfitri lunch featuring traditional Malaysian dishes in celebration of the Eid al-Fitr festival.
Dr. Iftikhar Ali, Chairperson of KIU’s Chemistry Department, expressed heartfelt gratitude to UM authorities for hosting the exchange program and inviting KIU students. He stated that the visit provides an excellent opportunity for students to benefit from world-class academic facilities and experience Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.
This mobility program reflects the growing academic partnership between KIU, INTI International University, and the University of Malaya, paving the way for future exchange opportunities that will open new horizons for students.
