Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Information and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Visits Pabbi and Nowshera Bar Associations

Pabbi/Nowshera – The Honourable Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Information and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs, Mr. Ikhtiar Wali Khan, visited the newly elected cabinets of Pabbi and Nowshera Bar Associations to extend his heartfelt congratulations on their recent appointments.

During his visit, the newly elected members of both Bar Associations warmly welcomed Mr. Ikhtiar Wali Khan and expressed their gratitude for his visit. They also took the opportunity to apprise him of the pressing challenges faced by the legal community in the region.

Addressing the lawyers, Mr. Khan conveyed congratulations on behalf of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government. He assured the Bar members that the concerns raised would be brought to the attention of the Federal Minister for Law and the relevant authorities to seek appropriate resolutions.

Mr. Khan emphasized the historical contributions and sacrifices made by the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the survival of the nation. However, he expressed concern over the consequences of emotionally driven decisions by the youth, which have pushed the province towards a state of crisis. Despite twelve years of so-called revolutionary governance, KP continues to lag in basic facilities such as education and healthcare. Universities are being shut down, the rule of law is deteriorating, and corruption persists unabated.

He criticized the previous government led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), highlighting the gap between promises and delivery. Projects like the Billion Tree Tsunami, five million homes, dams, and ten million jobs failed to materialize, while corruption flourished in appointments, postings, and transfers. He stated that the PTI misled the public with a false anti-corruption narrative, while its own ministers were involved in unethical practices.

Mr. Khan further added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and with the efforts of the coalition government, Pakistan has steered away from the brink of default towards a path of stability and progress. He reminded the audience that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also distanced Pakistan from IMF dependence in the past.

He stressed the need for national unity, stating, “If there is Pakistan, then we all exist.” He reiterated that, unlike others who consider personalities as red lines, for the current government, Pakistan and its Constitution are the true red lines.

Concluding his address, Mr. Ikhtiar Wali Khan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering essential services at the doorstep of the people and called for a strict and transparent accountability process for those responsible for misleading the nation and harming the country’s economy.
