Strict action underway on directives of Cantonment Executive Officer Syed Irfan Rizvi; Field office established, operations continue till 2 AM

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Encroachment Department of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has declared key commercial arteries in Saddar — including Bank Road, Haider Road, Adamjee Road, Kashmir Road, and Canning Road — as no-go areas for encroachment elements. The decision, taken under the directives of Cantonment Executive Officer Syed Irfan Rizvi, is being implemented with full force under the supervision of Raja Nadeem, Incharge of the Anti-Encroachment Cell, Saddar.

Raja Nadeem has set up a field office at Bank Road Chowk and is personally overseeing operations that continue until 2 AM. During late-night operations on Friday and Saturday, three truckloads of illegally placed goods were seized from the Saddar markets alone.

Previously, anti-encroachment teams of the Cantonment Board were seen actively conducting operations late into the night. Citizens, traders, and even foreign visitors to Saddar have welcomed the initiative, praising the Board for improving mobility and restoring order in the area.

According to Raja Nadeem, all markets in Saddar are now off-limits for encroachment mafias, and any attempt to reoccupy public spaces will be met with immediate action by Cantonment Board teams. He emphasized that the aim is not only to maintain clean and open commercial areas but also to ensure public convenience.

Moreover, traders operating on Bank Road, Haider Road, Adamjee Road, Kashmir Road, and Canning Road have been formally notified to refrain from allowing any encroachments in front of their shops and to cooperate fully with the anti-encroachment teams in the crackdown against illegal occupiers.

Local residents and business circles have lauded the efforts of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, calling the campaign a significant step toward enhancing the city’s aesthetics, improving traffic flow, and facilitating both traders and customers. They stressed that such actions must be continued on a regular basis to ensure long-term results.
