KP Food Safety & Halal Food Authority Launches Special Registration Campaign for Unregistered Food Units

In a major step towards ensuring food safety across the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA) has announced a special registration campaign for all unregistered food production units and food items across the province.

The campaign, which begins today (April 14) and will run until April 27, 2025, aims to bring these units and products within the legal framework of the Authority.

According to a spokesperson for KPFS&HFA, the initiative targets factories, production units, and food items that have not yet registered with the Authority. The primary objective is to ensure the availability of safe, high-quality, and Halal food to the public.

Director General of the Authority, Wasif Saeed, urged all owners of unregistered food production units and food products to take full advantage of this special campaign. He encouraged them to coordinate with field staff in their respective districts and complete their registration during the specified period.

Wasif Saeed further warned that strict legal action would be taken against any food unit or product found operating without registration after the deadline. “The mission of the Food Authority is ‘Safe Food, Healthy People,’ and it will be implemented at all costs,” he said.

Commenting on the campaign, KP Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, emphasized the government’s commitment to providing safe and quality food to citizens. Toru added that the provincial government is taking concrete steps to turn this vision into reality.
