COAS’s unprecedented address to Overseas Pakistanis Convention

There’s no denying the fact that it was a historic, unprecedented, comprehensive and realistic address delivered by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad. Needless to mention is that it was maiden Convention organized for the Overseas Pakistani in the country, presided over by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and participated by the COAS, federal ministers, parliamentarians and other dignitaries from different walks of life.
The COAS delivered the powerful speech with a confident body language and words uttered from the core of heart asserting that Pakistan’s enemies are mistaken in thinking that a handful of terrorists can dictate the country’s destiny.
General Syed Asim Munir declared that “even 10 generations of terrorists cannot damage Balochistan or Pakistan,” adding that Balochistan is not only vital to the country’s future but also a symbol of national pride.
The COAS emphasized that as long as the proud people of Pakistan stand behind their armed forces, no challenge is insurmountable.

In the emotionally charged speech, General Asim Munir said he was “deeply moved” by the love and passion of Pakistanis living abroad. “Our feelings for you are even stronger,” he stated, assuring the overseas community that the Pakistan Army stands shoulder-to-shoulder with them.
He expressed deep admiration for the patriotism of overseas Pakistanis, stating, “let me assure you that our bond with you is even stronger.”
He vehemently rejected the notion of brain drain, calling it instead a “brain gain,” and praised the global Pakistani diaspora as ambassadors and shining lights of the nation. “You are not just representing Pakistan abroad — you are showcasing the brilliance, resilience, and talent of this great nation,” he said. “Hold your head high with pride, because you belong to a great and powerful country. We want to take Pakistan to the place that Quaid-e-Azam dreamed of.”
Urging the diaspora to share the legacy of Pakistan with future generations, General Munir reaffirmed that the values and vision for which the country was founded must be preserved and passed on.
General Munir emphasized the importance of national unity and gratitude. “Allah has blessed Pakistan with immense natural and human resources,” he said, “and we must be grateful for these blessings. The question is not when Pakistan will develop, but the real question is how fast it will develop.”
Delivering a powerful message of resolve and national progress, the COAS said, “Today, we send a clear message: whatever stands in the way of Pakistan’s development, we will remove it together.”
Addressing national identity and resilience, General Munir reminded overseas Pakistanis that their heritage is rooted in a noble civilization and ideology. “We do not fear adversity; we have never bowed to hardships, and we never will.”
The COAS also paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, saying the nation views them with utmost honour and dignity. “Their sacrifices are eternal and will never be forgotten.”
On regional matters, General Asim Munir reiterated unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, calling Kashmir Pakistan’s “jugular vein” and expressing solidarity with Palestinians, saying the hearts of Pakistanis beat with the people of Gaza.
In his closing message to overseas Pakistanis, General Munir urged them to preserve and pass on the values of Pakistan to future generations. “No matter where you live, remember — your roots lie in a high civilization, noble ideology, and proud identity,” he said. “We have never bowed down before adversity, and we never will.” He asserted that Pakistan’s journey of progress is ongoing. “The question is not if Pakistan will progress—but how fast.”
The speech concluded with the slogan echoing through the convention hall: “Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad!”
One can say with conviction that speech of the Army Chief to Overseas Pakistanis Convention is the voice of common people, and he truly represents their true sentiments especially against terrorism, other matters that and on the country’s unwavering support for the people of Kashmir and Ghaza.
No doubt, his historic and remarkable address is being highly acclaimed and appreciated by all.
