Education Minister Conducts Surprise Visit to Examination Centers; Another Cheater caught by Minister
Ali Raza Abad Exam Center Staff Arrested for Assisting in Cheating Son of PSO to a Private Housing Society Owner Found Solving Exam Paper Inside Vehicle
Lahore – April 17. Minister Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, paid a surprise visit to various examination centers on Raiwind Road to review the ongoing 9th-grade examinations and overall arrangements. During the inspection, acting on a tip-off, the minister caught a student red-handed while cheating at Government Boys High School, Ali Raza Abad.
The student, identified as Abu Bakar Hashmi, was found solving his exam paper while seated in a car inside the examination center premises. Investigations revealed that the center’s staff and principal were actively involved in facilitating the cheating. The minister disclosed that the candidate is the son of Imran Hashmi, PSO to the owner of a private housing society, and that the vehicle would regularly enter the center to assist him in cheating.
Following the incident, the education minister ordered the immediate arrest and removal of the entire center staff, including the principal. An FIR has also been registered. He directed departmental action under the PEEDA Act and ordered the dismissal of those involved.
In recognition of the teacher who provided the tip-off, Rana Sikandar Hayat announced a reward of four basic salary bonuses and a certificate of appreciation. The minister reiterated a policy of zero tolerance against cheating mafias, stating that no student will be allowed to unfairly deprive others of their right, regardless of their background or influence. “We will pursue the cheating mafia to the very end,” he vowed.
