1556 criminals busted in three months, 20% crime reduce compare to last year

 

Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Police conducted a vigorous crackdown against criminals in the first three months of the year 2025.

 

In this regard, a total of 1,556 criminals were arrested and stolen goods worth Rs 650 million were recovered, including 124 vehicles and 269 motorcycles. Additionally, 553 members of 247 criminal gangs involved in robbery, theft and vehicle lifting activities were also apprehended.

 

The Islamabad Police successfully solved three major murder cases including a double murder in a short span of time. Furthermore, compared to last year there has been a 20% decrease in crime rates this year.

 

DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that the police traced 1,067 cases this year and submitted the challan to the relevant courts. He assured that Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety of citizens lives and property.

 

He also urged citizens to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity or items immediately to the concerned police station or by dialing the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
