QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has categorically stated that development is not possible without bringing youngsters in the national mainstream.
The Chief Minister said that “Uraan Pakistan is not an imaginary concept, rather there is a clear viable strategy behind the initiative. He said that clear-cut planning has been made for development in the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, as many nations have made remarkable achievements by materializing the dream in this regard.
The Chief Minister was speaking to the ceremony of “Uraan Pakistan” initiative consultation workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Planning and Special Initiatives here at a local hotel on Friday.
The event was also attended by the Federal Minister Planning and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, Provincial Ministers, Parliamentary secretaries, members of the assembly besides the federal and provincial high ups.
He stressed that Balochistan needs effective reforms, correct planning and good governance. He said that we need to know that development doesn’t come mere through announcements of projects, rather it is acquired with the practical steps taken on the scientific, economic and administrative grounds.
The Chief Minister mentioned that our government has introduced basic reforms in the Planning and Development department, and it is for the first time that the funds of Rs. 210 billion are being spent in the province effectively.
While referring to the Federal Minister Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, the Chief Minister said that he has shed light on the vision of “Uraan Pakistan” and the role of all provinces including Balochistan in it.
According to him, if we adopt new angles of development and take coordinated steps then, Pakistan can head for bright future.
The Chief Minister said that we are thankful to the Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who cooperated for major projects like construction of highways and Kachhi canal in Balochistan providing financial assistance for the same.
He said that it is practical expression of love and solidarity of the federation and all provinces with Balochistan.
He made it clear if there was no cooperation, then it would take at least 10 years to completely the highways.
Now these roads are being completed in two years, which is a major achievement, he added.
He said that the real challenge we are facing is of better governance, effective planning and including youth in the national mainstream.
He said that we are determined to enforce the system based on capability and eligibility.
The Chief Minister announced that the provincial government would give approval to the Exports Development Board” within a week so as to promote exports. Moreover, the special industrial zones are also being made functional so that they become the real Industrial production, not mere the symbolic projects.
