Significant Thaw in Pakistan-Qatar Anti-Narcotics Cooperation Sequel to Pakistan-GCC Conference
In continuation of the GCC Conference, Pakistan and Qatar have made significant progress in strengthening cooperation in the fight against narcotics.
It has been agreed that there is a need for formulating a joint strategy between Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Qatar, a key regional country. A high-level delegation from Qatar’s General Directorate of Drugs was given a comprehensive briefing at the ANF Headquarters.
Detailed discussions were also held between the two sides on matters of mutual interest, and both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in anti-narcotics efforts.
During the meeting, emphasis remained on increasing intelligence sharing and operational cooperation between the two agencies to fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
Qatar has also pledged to support Pakistan in building its technical capacity. In this backdrop, the Qatari delegation also visited Islamabad International Airport.
Pakistan’s hosting of an international conference is seen as a major step toward building a long-term partnership with GCC countries, for drug prevention and control.
