Awami Tahreek re-affirms No Surrender Against Water Theft and Corporate Greed in Babarlo Sit-In
Babarlo/Sukku, April 20: Awami Tahreek fiercely condemns all anti-people, anti-Sindh, and unconstitutional schemes forced upon us by the state. The six new canals on the Indus River, corporate farming disguised as the Pakistan Green Initiative, illegal changes to IRSA, the oppressive PECA law, the unfair Council of Common Interests (CCI) setup, and secret SIFC decisions are a brutal plot to steal Sindh’s water, seize our land, silence our voice, and hand our resources to corporate gangs. These are not development projects—they are death sentences for Sindh’s people.
Taking to gathering, Central President Awami Tahreek Advocate Wasand Thari declared, “The cowardly threats and attack on peaceful protesters at Babarlo, firing on sleeping citizens, will not break us. Sindh’s people fear no bullets. Our history proves we never bow to tyranny, and we never will. The flames of resistance burn brighter than ever.”
For three days, Awami Tahreek has stood strong at the Babarlo sit-in, shoulder-to-shoulder with brave advocates Aamir Warraich and Hassan Abbas. Awami Tahreek and Sindhiani Tahreek are not just talking—they are on the ground, active 24/7, led by Central President Advocate Wasand Thari, Central Senior Vice President Noor Ahmed Katiyaar, Advocate Sajjad Ahmed Chandio, Central General Secretary Advocate Sajjid Mahesar, Kabir Bheel, Advocate Ayaz Saleh, and Advocate Ram Kolhi. Sindhiani Tahreek is equally fierce, with leaders Ms. Shamshad Babar, Ms. Robina Bhatti, Advocate Hina Baloch, Ms. Kauser Phulpoto, and Ms. Safia Rajper raising powerful slogans against injustice, standing tall for Sindh’s rights.
Taking to gathering, Central President Awami Tahreek Advocate Wasand Thari roared, “Our struggle is unstoppable. We demand the rulers cancel all anti-Sindh projects now. Keep your hands off our river, our land, and our resources. Sindh’s water is not for sale. Sindh’s people are not your slaves. This is not just a protest—it’s a battle for justice, dignity, and survival.”
Taking to gathering, Central President Awami Tahreek Advocate Wasand Thari warned, “This fight will not stop. This fire will spread. Our voice will grow louder until every anti-Sindh scheme is crushed and thrown into the dustbin of history. We are awake, united, and ready. Sindh will resist. Sindh will win.”
