Complete Shutdown Observed in Tando Adam on Call of JSQM Against Controversial Canal Projects

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A complete shutter-down and wheel-jam strike was observed across Tando Adam taluka on the central call of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) against the construction of controversial canals on the Indus River and corporate farming projects.

Due to the strike, all major commercial areas including Shahi Bazaar, Bombay Bazaar, Lohar Gali, M.A. Jinnah Road, Station Chowk, Muhammadi Chowk, Juman Shah, and Latif Gate remained completely closed. Traffic on the roads was also minimal, while petrol pumps, shopping centers, restaurants, and public transport services were entirely shut down. Police conducted regular patrols throughout the city to maintain law and order during the strike.

JSQM leaders from Tando Adam, including Allahdad Mari and Ghulam Shabbir Koryo, expressed gratitude to the citizens for their support. In a press statement, they said the public’s strong response against the controversial canal projects reflects a historic stand by the people of Sindh. They asserted that any encroachment on Sindh’s water, land, and natural resources would not be tolerated.
