Review meeting on progress of umbrella schemes of Education Dept: Conduct comprehensive & organized survey to meet educational needs in all districts, directs CM

Mir Sarfraz Bugti directs to concerned authorities to give preference to districts in umbrella schemes, which remained backward in educational field so as to end educational imbalance there

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has underlined the need to conduct a comprehensive and organized survey to meet the educational requirements in all districts of the province so as to make planning based on facts.
He also emphasized to create compatibility in the estimated cost and allocated resources under the umbrella schemes of Education Department so that the resources are not wasted and all schemes are completed in an effective manner.
He directed to the concerned authorities to give preference to the districts, which are backward in educational field, in umbrella schemes so as to end educational imbalance.
The Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting on the progress and improvement of the umbrella schemes of Education Department, here on Monday.
The Provincial Minister for Education, Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Advisor for Local Government, Nawabzada Amir Hamza Khan Zehri, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary, Babar Khan, Secretary Finance, Imran Zarkoon and other concerned high ups.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister stressed that no compromise be made on the institutional improvement, transparent procedure and effective implementation for bringing real change in educational field.
He directed to ensure distribution of available resources for the umbrella schemes purely on merit and that transparently setting aside every kind of pressure and political influence.
He also directed to give top priority to the schools deprived of basic facilities in the umbrella scheme so as to ensure improvement in education at lower level.
In addition to this, the district monitoring committees should also be made functional for effective monitoring of the development projects.
He said that it is unavoidable to keep in view the opinion and needs of local community in the education-related schemes so that these are compatible with the ground realities.
