No compromise to be made on timeline and quality of development projects: Preparation of budget started; development of Quetta to be priority, says Chief Minister
Mir Sarfraz Bugti holds contractor responsible for delay in Quetta Development Package projects; asserts now any company or contractor not meeting timeline and maintaining quality of work would be blacklisted
QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that the government has started preparations of the next financial year’s budget, in which the development of Quetta would be the priority.
The Chief Minister said that the government is determined to beautification of Quetta city. However, every citizen has to play one’s role in this regard.
He regretfully pointed out that the government makes the roads and walls beautiful, but some people damage them through wall chalking. He asserted that now the law would take its course and take action against those involved in the wall chalking.
The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the development projects of Quetta Development Package and later speaking to media persons here on Tuesday.
Also present on the occasion were the Provincial Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat and other concerned high ups.
The Chief Minister on the occasion appreciated performance of the Project Director of Quetta Development Package and his team for implementation on the projects saying that it happens to be difficult task to implement the projects of Urban Center Development and added that they demonstrated excellent performance.
He also appreciated the endeavours of Commissioner Quetta in this regard.
He held the contractors responsible for delay in completion of the development projects of Quetta Package. He said that the basic reason behind delay in the development projects was slowness of the contractors.
He warned that now whoever contractor or company not meeting the given timeline or maintaining quality of work would be blacklisted.
In this regard, the provincial authorities have been issued directives, he added.
He insisted that time has come to improve Balochistan. He warned that no further delay would be tolerated in development process in future.
The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on allocation of the funds for construction of the highways in Balochistan.
He said that people of the province are thankful to every person of the country.
He said that the Quetta-Karachi highway, which otherwise was called as the bloody road, would be made double carriage.
He said that work is continued on the Mangi road, and the long-standing issue of water would be resolved with its completion.
Responding to a question regard the leader of Baloch Yakjejti Committee, Simi Din Baloch, Chief Minister said that it is positive thing that she has contradicted burning of the national flag. However, it is an established fact that the flag was burnt by any member of the BYC. He said that his aim was not to target anyone but was to expose the designs of BYC.
