Government determined to make Balochistan polio free, says CS

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has stated that we are determined to make the province polio free as per the vision of provincial government.
In this regard, all available resources are being mobilized, stated the Chief Secretary while speaking to the Regional Director Eastern Region, Dr. Hamid Jafri who called on him here on Wednesday.
During the course of meeting, the present and future strategy was discussed for eradication of polio from the country especially Balochistan.
The Chief Secretary maintained that eradication of polio is a national goal and Balochistan is playing its wholehearted role in it.
He said that the provincial government is taking steps for provision of healthcare facilities to the people.
Referring the initiative for polio eradication, he said that the administration is making the anti-polio campaign successful so as to save the children from crippling disease.
He said that the role of lady health workers is very important, and we are taking steps to ensure their presence at the duty place.
He said that for the first time, doctors have been recruited in large number. The hospitals, rural health centers and basic health units would be made functional in the province, he added.
Dr. Hamid Jafri appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and administration for eradication of polio.
