Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to the People of Kashmir, Praises Leadership of Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Kashmir and praised the leadership of former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during a book launch event held in Islamabad.

The event was organized to unveil senior journalist Muhammad Nawaz Raza’s book “Mard-e-Ahan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif”, and was jointly hosted by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoor) and the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists. The ceremony was attended by PML-N Chairman Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Lt. Gen. (R) Abdul Qayyum, along with several senior journalists and political figures.

The Federal Minister congratulated the author, Haji Nawaz Raza, on his book.
In his speech, Engineer Amir Muqam paid tribute to Nawaz Sharif’s contributions across various sectors and highlighted his bold decisions—particularly the nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998. He stated, “That historic day symbolizes Pakistan’s sovereignty and resolve,” emphasizing the need to commemorate the day at the national level with due respect.

He also praised Nawaz Sharif’s developmental projects, citing the Hazara Motorway as an example, which he noted was built to international standards. “Nawaz Sharif’s vision fostered economic stability and national dignity in the country,” he said.

The Minister urged students and the youth to read the book to better understand the former Prime Minister’s struggles and achievements.
He criticized India’s false narratives and accusations, calling them an attempt to cover up its own failures.

“We salute the unmatched resilience of the Kashmiri people. The hearts of our Kashmiri brothers still beat with Pakistan. The Kashmir issue is alive—and it will remain alive. We will continue to raise our voices for their rights at every forum,” he stated.

Amir Muqam condemned India’s statements as irresponsible and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, while warning that any irresponsible or aggressive behavior would receive a strong and united response from the Pakistani people and armed forces.

He concluded by saying, “Peace and dialogue are our top priorities, but we will not compromise on national security or dignity.”
