98 pc target of immunization achieved as anti-polio drive concludes in Balochistan

QUETTA: Around 98 percent target of immunization of children was achieved as the seven-day anti-polio campaign came to an end in Balochistan the other day.
According to the sources of Emergency Operation Center for Polio Eradication in Balochistan, the anti-polio campaign came to an end in all districts of Balochistan on Sunday last. “We have achieved the target of 98 percent of immunization during the campaign,” said the sources of EOC.
It may be mentioned here that it was targeted to vaccinate over 2.66 million children below five years of age in the seven-day campaign launched on April 21, 2025.
More than 11,000 teams were formed to vaccinate the children in the campaign, the EOC sources informed.
The EOC sources said that the campaign was crucial in backdrop of the presence of the polio virus in the environmental samples of different districts in the province.
