A meeting was held in the committee room of the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Nadeem Ahmed Abro regarding the handover of land to the National Highway Authority for the construction of Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M6)

A meeting was held in the committee room of the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Nadeem Ahmed Abro regarding the handover of land to the National Highway Authority for the construction of Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M6). The meeting was attended by General Manager Motorway M6 Zubair Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon, Deputy Commissioner Naushahro Feroze Arsalan Saleem, Project Director Motorway M6 National Highway Hyderabad Sohail Ahmed, Director Information Muhammad Musa Gondal, Exxon LBOD Muhammad Salman, as well as Assistant Commissioners of Settlement Survey Khairpur and all tehsils of District Shaheed Benazirabad and Naushahro Feroze. Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Nadeem Ahmed Abro said that there is no delay in the construction of Motorway M6 by the Revenue Department. If the National Highway Authority officials want, we are ready to hand over the land for the construction of the motorway to them tomorrow. The NHA people should come and start the work. On this occasion, General Manager of the National Highway Motorway M6 Authority, Zubair Ahmed, said that the Islamic Development Bank of Azerbaijan has announced to provide funds for the construction of the motorway, but they demand that all the paperwork be completed, and the land be transferred to the name of the NHA, after which the required funds will be provided. He further said that 945 million has been recovered by NAB in Matiari and Naushahro Feroze district and this amount has been handed over to the Sindh government. He further said that NAB will also recover the wrong payments made to the landowners. He further said that in the first phase, the construction of the services area and interchange will be started. Briefing the meeting on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon said that Section 4 has been issued for the land to be used for the construction of the motorway and Section 6 will also be issued this week. He further said that providing land for the motorway is our job. The NHA should provide funds soon so that the landowners can make payments and hand over the land to the NHA. The Deputy Commissioner further said that 1380 acres of land in Shaheed Benazirabad district has been allocated for the M6 motorway, and a gazette notification will be issued within a week. Briefing the meeting on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Naushahro Feroze Arsalan Saleem said that the NHA is paying less compensation for the land in Naushahro Feroze district, while the rates are higher in Khairpur and Matiari. The Deputy Commissioner demanded that the rates of the lands be increased.
