Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan Reaffirms Commitment to Empower Youth
Charbagh/Swat (April 28, 2025): A significant consultative session on the National Adolescent and Youth Policy was held at the University of Swat, where the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, delivered a special address.
The session was attended by faculty members and students from the University of Swat, representatives from other universities, religious scholars, seminary students, and individuals from various walks of life.
In his address, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan emphasized that the government is committed to providing opportunities to youth based on merit and talent rather than favoritism. He stressed the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for youth advancement across all provinces and regions.
He shared that over the next 30 days, he would be visiting 26 cities across Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir to engage directly with the youth. For the first time, Provincial Coordinators have been appointed to strengthen coordination between the provinces and the federal government.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan also highlighted the National Innovation Award initiative, through which talented youth from all over the country can submit their innovative ideas. Successful projects will receive not only financial support but also investment to help turn their ideas into reality.
He noted that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, extensive efforts are being made to support youth in the areas of education, skills development, employment, and engagement. Various opportunities such as laptop schemes, scholarships, and initiatives in science, technology, IT, and sports are being provided to empower the youth.
Rana Mashhood congratulated the University of Swat for becoming a part of the Prime Minister’s Sports Fellowship Programme. He also announced that the government is launching the largest Technical Education Program in Pakistan’s history to equip youth with skills aligned with domestic and international job markets.
Finally, he stressed the importance of integrating madrassa students into mainstream education and professional opportunities to eliminate societal divides and ensure collective national progress.
The session concluded with an atmosphere of enthusiasm, hope, and renewed commitment among the youth.
