BA adopts resolution regarding construction of Zhob bypass & division of NA-260 in two
QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly adopted the resolutions about construction of Zhob bypass and division of NA-260 constituency in two constituencies in its session on Friday.
The speaker, Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai was in the chair when the session resumed after one day break.
The resolution regarding construction of the Zhob bypass was tabled by the member of provincial assembly belonging to Zhob, Fazal Qadir Mandokhail.
While the other resolution regarding division of NA-260 in two constituencies was tabled by the member of assembly, Mir Zabid Reki.
In the resolution, it was pointed out that there happens to be severe traffic jam in Zhob city due to the heavy vehicles that pass through from Balochistan to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw.
It was mentioned that not only the traffic jams disrupt daily life, but in emergencies, patients often die on the way because they cannot reach the hospitals in time.
In order to address the public’s sufferings, the financial bid for the project was opened on April 25, 2024. However, even after lapse of a year, the NHA has neither awarded the contract nor initiated the work on the project, it was regretfully pointed out.
The resolution demanded to take speedy practical measures on the project keeping in view the difficulties of people of Zhob.
In the resolution regarding division of NA-260, Mir Zabid Reki pointed out this constituency is too large that a MNA can’t visit the whole in five years span.
He said that this constituency is not developed due to having big area.
Meanwhile, the resolution about declaring the cancer specialist Dr. Mehrullah Tareen officially martyr was also adopted in the session.
The resolution was tabled by MPA from Pishin, Asghar Tareen. It also demanded to name him after the under-construction cancer hospital in Quetta.
Later, the session was adjourned to meet at 03:00 PM on May 5, 2025.
