Country can’t progress till rule of law, constitution: We have to get to roots of terrorism in Balochistan: Issues of country would continue to grow as long as deviation from constitution remain continues: Shahid Khaqan
Convenor of Awam Pakistan Party says if non-representative governments came in power, situation would not improve; says just hold three fair elections, country’s system would start running; charges people of country have no trust in those who are in power today
QUETTA: The central convenor of Awam Pakistan Party and former Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has categorically stated that the issues of country would continue to grow as long as the deviation from constitution remain continued.
He said that the country could not progress until and unless the unrest is ended as it has also engulfed the Balochistan province.
He said that there would be unrest if the fundamental rights are not given to the people and there is violation of the law and constitution.
He said that it is collective responsibility of all of us to understand the circumstances of Balochistan, and play our role to resolve the issues being confronted by the province.
He said that no one can tolerate terrorism, but we have to get to the root of it in the province.

Also accompanied him were other senior leaders of the party including Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Dr. Zafar Mirza and others.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the objective behind his visit to Balochistan was not to mere get political interests, rather we came just to assess the current situation.
He said that it is not possible that there persists unrest in Balochistan, and on the other hand, country remain safe from it.
He said that he held meetings with the people of all segments of the society including students and political leaders. During the course of meetings, he tried to comprehend the issues of Balochistan, he added.
He said that the country’s issues would not be resolved by deviating from the constitution. He said that the country can’t progress until and unless there would be rule of law and constitution. So, we have to ensure rule of law and constitution, adding he stressed.
He said that it is a big question for every politician of the country whether we have protected the fundamental rights of the people.
He said that we would have to give fundamental rights to the people of country including Balochistan for bringing real progress.
Earlier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi addressed the lawyers in Balochistan High Court Bar Room the same morning.
While addressing the lawyers there, he said that our objective is not political point scoring, but to speak about solution of the issues of country.
He said that there would be no justice, if the constitution is violated in country. He charged that our country is not running according to the constitution. He said that if someone has issue with the constitution, then it may change it.
Referring the Mines and Mineral Act Balochistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that if it is against the constitution, then it is wrong.
He emphasized that the provinces must be given the due constitutional rights. H said that Balochistan should have been the richest province of the country from the perspective of its rights guaranteed in constitution and the resources, it had.
He said that just hold three fair elections in the country, its system would start running as if the non-representative governments came in power, the situation would not improve.
H said that we don’t need to speak in favour or against anyone, but we have to comprehend the situation. He said that although we talk about democracy, but we are not ready to give right of speech to anyone. He said that he doesn’t know Dr. Mah Rang Baloch personally, but she should have the right to speak.
He said that the people of country have no trust in those who are in power today. He firmly denies any connection with establishment of the country saying that perhaps he is among few those politicians, who have no connection with it (establishment). He said that the issues of country would have to be resolved by the politicians, who have public endorsement. He said that we are answerable for why the situation in Balochistan and Pakistan has reached this point.
Earlier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was warmly welcomed by the senior lawyers and office bearers of the bar association upon his arrival at the Bar Room of Balochistan High Court.
It may be mentioned here Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had arrived in Quetta on Thursday. During the visit, he held meeting with tribal and political leader, Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani. He also inaugurated the provincial secretariat of his party the other day.
