Speaker announces investigations into Mines & Mineral Act: CM invites opposition members to speak on Balochistan Mines & Mineral Act 2025

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has invited the members of assembly belonging to Opposition to speak on the Mines and Mineral Act 2025.
While speaking on the point of order raised by the member of Opposition, Mir Zabid Reki in provincial assembly, the Chief Minister said that the doors of Chief Minister House is open and let sit on the Mines and Mineral Bill once again.
He said that this Parliament is supreme, and as such it’s dignity must be respected. He said that the opposition has pointed out regarding the Mines and Minerals Bill, its draft was something else and final bill was quite different than it (draft).
So, a committee should be formed to conduct probe of the matter, adding he stressed.
It may be mentioned here that the session of provincial assembly was resumed with Speaker, Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai in the chair on Friday.
After the speech of Chief Minister, the Speaker announced to conduct investigations into the Mines and Minerals Act.
In start of the session, Mir Zabid Reki said that the Mines and Minerals Act was presented on February 28, 2025. He said that a debate was held on the bill in CM House. The standing committee called the mine owners for consultation on the bill; he recalled adding that we removed the powers of federation from the bill. Then, the 120-pager draft was passed on March 12, but the bill that we had finalized in the standing committee was missing from the draft, he mentioned.
He said that the bill that was finalized by the standing committee was altered, and the powers of federation, removed from the draft, were included in the bill.
Earlier, there was exchange of heated arguments between the members of provincial assembly Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and Mir Asadullah Baloch on the matter of walk out of opposition members from the house.
