Islamabad Food Authority Cracks Down on Unhealthy Meat Supply

ISLAMABAD. MAY. 05: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has taken decisive action against a supplier involved in selling unhealthy and substandard meat in the city. Following the directives of the Director IFA, food safety teams inspected a supplier’s vehicle in G-9 and found 200 kilograms of substandard meat being transported in non-food-grade polythene bags.

Action Taken:

 

– FIR Registered: A case has been registered against the supplier for selling substandard meat.

– Meat Destroyed: The 200 kilograms of unhealthy meat has been destroyed.

– Fine Imposed: A fine of Rs. 50,000 has been imposed on the supplier.

 

According to Dr. Tahira Siddiq, Deputy Director IFA, the consumption of such meat can be extremely harmful to health. She emphasized that the IFA has zero tolerance for food adulteration and will take strict action against those compromising public health for profit.
