KP Government Appoints Vice Chancellors to 16 Public Universities Across the Province

Peshawar –In a major development aimed at strengthening higher education governance, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued formal appointment letters for the position of Vice Chancellors in 16 public sector universities across the province.The appointments were made by the Higher Education Department and have come into immediate effect.
Each appointment carries a two-year tenure, with the possibility of an extension for another two years based on performance.The move is seen as a significant step toward enhancing academic leadership and promoting excellence in higher education institutions.
The newly appointed Vice Chancellors are:
Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan Khan – Abbottabad University of Science and Technology
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily – Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak
Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan – University of Lakki Marwat
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali – Hazara University, Mansehra
Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan – University of Engineering and Technology, Mardan
Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan – University of Agriculture, Swat
Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan – University of Shangla
Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah – University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Swat
Prof. Dr. Johar Ali – University of Peshawar
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq – University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar
Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad – Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan
Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq – Bacha Khan University, Charsadda
Prof. Dr. Saeed Badshah – Shuhada-e-Army Public School University of Technology, Nowshera
Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas (R) – Kohat University of Science and Technology, Kohat
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan – University of Science and Technology, Bannu
Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmin – Women University, Swabi
The appointments are subject to the final outcome of an ongoing review process.All selected candidates are required to confirm their acceptance within three working days of receiving their appointment letters.
Officials from the Higher Education Department expressed optimism that the appointments would bring positive changes in the governance and academic performance of universities across KP.
The new leadership is expected to bring vision, innovation, and efficiency to the management of our universities, a departmental spokesperson stated.
