Resolution about opening border crossing points disposed of: Resolutions tabled in BA about giving Pishin status of division and start of weekly flights from Zhob Airport

Independent Report QUETTA: The resolutions were tabled in the session of Balochistan Assembly regarding start of the weekly flights from Zhob Airport, giving status of division to the Pishin district and opening of the border crossing points from Chaman to Gwadar. The Speaker Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai was in the chair when the session resumed after a day’s break on Friday afternoon. The resolution about giving Pishin district status of Division was tabled by the Member Provincial Assembly of JUI, Syed Zafar Agha while the resolution about commencement of flights from Zhob Airport on weekly basis was tabled by the MPA Fazal Qadir Mandokhail. While the resolution about giving Pishin district status of Division was disposed of on assurance made by the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The Chief Minister said that we are considering to make Pishin district as Division. He said that the funds are kept in view in this regard. On the resolution regarding start of the flights from Zhob Airport, the MPA Khair Jan Baloch said that the airports in Panjgur, Dalbandin, Khuzdar and Sibi are non-operational. He pleaded to encourage the private airlines to start flights from these airports. Later, the MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch tabled the resolution about opening of the border crossing points from Chaman to Gwadar and granting permission of across the border movement to the people living in the border areas through rahdari. This resolution was also disposed on the assurance of Chief Minister. He said that we would make endeavour for resolving the matter instead of passing it in form of resolution. He assured that a committee would be formed regarding border trade. On the occasion, he also noted that the border management of border areas lies with the federal government. Meanwhile, the session of provincial assembly was adjourned to meet on May 21, again.
