QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has stated that the equal development of all districts in Balochistan is top priority of the government. He said that the upcoming budget will prove to be a milestone for the province’s development and public welfare. In preparing the budget, resources will be allocated by taking into account the genuine issues and needs of each region, and full allocation for proposed projects will be ensured so that the development process progresses uniformly. The Chief Minister was chairing a crucial meeting of the parliamentary committee on preparation of the budget and Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the upcoming fiscal year 2025–26, here on Monday. The parliamentary leaders and members of the assembly from Pakistan Peoples’ Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Awami National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Balochistan Awami Party attended the meeting. The participants appreciated the Chief Minister’s initiative of taking all political parties into confidence during the budget preparation process and termed it an important step toward promoting democratic traditions. During the session, detailed discussions were held on the framework of the upcoming budget and development programme. It was agreed that Balochistan’s budget and PSDP will be prepared with a focus on public needs, development of underprivileged areas, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment opportunities. While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister maintained that the budget, prepared in consultation with all political parties, will not only reflect the public’s aspirations but will also help stabilize the province’s economy. At the conclusion of the meeting, all representatives expressed satisfaction that the consultation process in the budget preparation is being conducted in a transparent and comprehensive manner.
