Health Facility Monitoring Initiative significant step towards improving departmental performance: DG

QUETTA: The Director General of Health Services Balochistan, Dr. Amin Khan Mandokhail has stated that Health Facility Monitoring Initiative is not merely for monitoring, but a significant step toward improving departmental performance, identifying shortcomings, and implementing practical reforms.
The DG was presiding over a meeting on the Health Facility Monitoring Initiative held here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by members of the monitoring team comprising selected senior officers of the Health Department.
It may be mentioned here that the primary objective was to conduct a comprehensive review of the quality of services, availability of facilities, and presence of human resources at government health centers across Balochistan, to implement the government’s ongoing reform efforts.
Addressing the participants, the DG Health elaborated on the Health Minister’s vision and the department’s goals.
He stated that the monitoring team, consisting of senior officers, will visit all district and tehsil-level hospitals, health centers, maternal and child health facilities, and basic health units. They will assess the services provided, staff attendance, and availability of medicines, and compile a transparent report.
Dr. Mandokhail instructed the team to present an accurate and honest picture of each facility so that reform measures can be based on ground realities. He added that under the leadership of Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, a clear transformation has begun within the health department, and by making this initiative successful, the promise of delivering quality healthcare to the public can be fulfilled.
The meeting also included detailed discussions on monitoring procedures, the reporting framework, and district-level coordination. Emphasis was placed on documenting all observations and recommendations to guide future policymaking.
This initiative is being regarded as a significant step by the Health Department towards establishing an integrated and results-driven monitoring system.
