KARACHI: A large number of employees of the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) Schools in Karachi held a peaceful protest outside the PAA Director General’s Office on Tuesday.

PAA Employees Welfare Association protest in response to the non-implementation of a 25% salary increase announced by the government in the 2024-25 Federal Budget.

According to the protesting employees they said that despite the clear commitments made in the budget, the promised salary adjustment has yet to be reflected in the pay of PAA Schools employees, leading to growing financial hardship among hundreds of families.

 

“We are serving the schools with dedication, but now being neglected,” said Nadeem Ghani and Shahzad Anwer , Ms.Bisma Javed, Ms.Fouzia Erum,representatives of the protest committee.

 

On the occasion, More than 200 teaching and non teaching employees from all PAA Schools in Karachi participated in the protest. for their rights. They have also appealed to human rights organizations, civil society and the public to support their cause and raise awareness about the ongoing injustice.

 

The demonstrators have called on the Ministry of Finance and other relevant authorities to take immediate action and fulfill the government’s commitment after about a year passed.

The PAA Employees Welfare Association appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and higher authorities to fulfill their genuine demands.
