Jaffar Khan Mandokhail says sustainability of institutions lies in upholding merit and transparency, which is why it is necessary to maintain true spirit & tradition of academic excellence of cadet colleges

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that educational institutions are not established for profit-making purposes, and imposing heavy fees is equivalent to shutting the doors of knowledge and awareness on underprivileged students.
Therefore, it is essential to open new avenues of knowledge and wisdom and make them accessible especially to the poorest segments of society in order to nurture the hidden talents and capabilities of the younger generation.
In his personal experience, knowledge cannot reach its true value unless it reaches the underprivileged.
The Governor expressed these views during his visit to Girls Cadet College Quetta (GCCQ) in the metropolis on Friday.
On this occasion, the Principal of Girls Cadet College, Brigadier Mirza Faisal, Additional Secretary of Higher Education, Abdul Malik Achakzai, and Director Colleges Muhammad Hussain were also present.
The Governor emphasized that cadet colleges in Balochistan have long been a beacon of quality education, discipline, and hope.
They promote academic excellence, character building, and moral integrity.
Jaffar Mandokhail expressed his pleasure upon witnessing the dedicated efforts of the teachers and the excellent educational environment at the college.
He stressed the importance of highlighting the outstanding performance of all cadet colleges, especially Girls Cadet College Quetta.
He stated that education and training go hand in hand, and only through their combination can the character and personality of the new generation be shaped.
He noted with contentment that it is encouraging that Girls Cadet College presents an ideal blend of modern education and proper training, contributing to the development of future leaders.
Governor appreciated the conscious efforts of the college’s principal, faculty, and staff and directed them to increase capacity for more students, ensure all necessary facilities for the faculty, and take steps to further enhance their capabilities.
He praised the cadets for nurturing leadership qualities, promoting teamwork, and participating in extracurricular activities that support both academic excellence and physical fitness. The college provides unique opportunities for local girls to become future leaders in various fields.
He also highlighted that the sustainability of institutions lies in upholding merit and transparency, which is why it is necessary to maintain the true spirit and tradition of academic excellence of cadet colleges.
Earlier, the Governor inspected various sections of the college and appreciated the cadets’ artwork, sculptures, and scientific models.
