MIRPUR MATHELO (By Tanveer Ahmed Soomro) A video of the torture of Waqas Malik, a Mirpur Mathelo abductee who was abducted by robbers from village Qabool Khunharo 18 days ago, has gone viral on social media. The robbers have demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from the abductee’s heirs.
According to details, the abductee Waqas Akhtar Malik, the brother of Mirpur Mathelo journalist Waqar Akhtar Malik, who was abducted from village Qabool Khunharo in the outskirts of Mirpur Mathelo 18 days ago, is being tortured by robbers after being chained and tied to a tree.
The video of the abductee has gone viral on social media. When contacted in this regard, the abductee’s brother, journalist Waqar Akhtar Malik, said that in Ghotki district, robbers have established a state within a state, due to which people are not safe even in their homes. SSP Ghotki Samiullah Soomro and DSP Ubauro Abdul Qadir Soomro know which group of robbers is with my abducted brother, but despite the passage of 18 days, the police have not released the abducted brother. They have completely failed to recover him. They have demanded the immediate recovery of the kidnapped brother from the SSP Ghotki and DIG Sukkur.
