CM and Minister Railways discuss improvement in railway services in province, launching Quetta-Kuchlak shuttle service with estimated cost of Rs. 283 million; Abbasi says international-standard football ground to be constructed in Quetta

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that railway services would be expanded in the province to provide better facilities to the public.
The Chief Minister was speaking to the Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, who called on him at the CM’s secretariat on Thursday.

During the course of meeting between Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, discussions were held on improving railway services in Balochistan and launching a Quetta-Kuchlak shuttle service.
The meeting considered making the 32-kilometer-long railway track from Sariab Railway Station to Kuchlak operational for the shuttle service.
During briefing, railway officials informed the Chief Minister that the proposed project would include five railway stations: Sariab, Quetta, Sheikh Manda, Beleli, and Kuchlak. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 283 million.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that serious consideration is being given to making the shuttle service project feasible.
He noted that the project would provide improved travel facilities to the people of Quetta and its surrounding areas.
He further stated that the implementation of this project would significantly reduce the heavy traffic burden on Quetta.
During the meeting, Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi stated that an international-standard football ground would be constructed in Quetta, with the support of Pakistan Railways.
