Reception Held in Calgary in Honor of Former AJK Information Minister Sardar Abid Hussain Abid
Calgary, Canada – June 15, 2025: A grand reception was organized by the Kashmiri community in Calgary, Alberta, in honor of former Information Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Sardar Abid Hussain Abid. The event brought together members of the local Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora and was marked by speeches from various community leaders and political representatives.

In his address, Sardar Abid Hussain Abid expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome he received in Calgary. He emphasized the importance of the overseas Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, describing them as the “crown jewel” of the nation.
“Despite living far from home, our overseas brothers and sisters have played a vital role in strengthening the economies of both Pakistan and Azad Kashmir,” he said. “They remain deeply involved in the issues facing their homeland, and their commitment is truly commendable.”
Sardar Abid pledged that if given the opportunity, he would work actively to address the legitimate concerns and grievances of the overseas community.
He added that overseas Kashmiris are a valuable national asset, who have always contributed meaningfully to the development and prosperity of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.
“The well-being of overseas Kashmiris is a top priority for the AJK government, and their suggestions and feedback are always welcomed,” he said.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and acknowledgment of the overseas community’s continuing support for their homeland.
