Yoga for one Earth, one Health: International Yoga Day celebrated in Quetta with enthusiasm
QUETTA: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with quite enthusiasm and in style, here in the provincial metropolis, on Sunday.
An awareness walk was organized followed by a special session of yoga in the football ground located in spacious Ayub Sports Complex.
Arranged by the Bolan Yoga Health Club, the around one and half hour lengthy walk and special yoga session was participated by members of the Club and others present for regular physical activities in the football ground.
Prominent among them were the Chief Organizer of the Club, Ishaq Mengal, renowned social activist and yogi, Syed Qurban Gharshin, Ali Usmani, Muhammad Fahim, Maroof and other led the walk.
The Yoga specialist and trainer, Ameer Sadat conducted the session of yoga.
Special shirts were also distributed among participants of the event.
The yoga instructor and all others, on the occasion, urged the general public to join yoga and do it on regular basis as it is beneficial for their physical, mental and spiritual health. They were of the view that yoga is actually a way of life, and it (yoga) goes far beyond physical postures (āsanas). It’s a comprehensive system for physical health, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual growth.
Needless to mention here is that the International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21, every year. This year marks the International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, which echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.
Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity.
Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
