Action initiated to reclaim government land and properties currently under control of land mafia, Commissioner informs meeting during briefing.
QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed to the concerned authorities to accelerate the anti-encroachment campaign in the provincial capital, Quetta, expressing his determination to transform the city into a modern, clean, and well-organized urban center with improved civic amenities.
The Chief Minister stated that providing facilities to the public is a top priority of the government, and encroachments cause inconvenience to citizens. Therefore, no leniency would be shown in this regard.
He was chairing a meeting on the Safa Quetta Project here at the CM’s secretariat on Tuesday.
Presiding over an important meeting on the “Safa Quetta Program” in Quetta, the Chief Minister stated that a public awareness campaign should be launched to gain public cooperation. He emphasized that providing facilities to the public is a priority of the government, encroachments are a source of inconvenience for citizens, and no leniency will be shown in this regard. He further said that issues related to cleanliness, traffic, and drainage will be resolved on a permanent basis, and with public cooperation, Quetta will be transformed into a model and beautiful city.
During the meeting, a decision was made to take effective action against encroachments in the provincial capital. Approval was granted for the appointment of magistrates to enforce municipal laws. Instructions were also given to ensure the city’s beautification, drainage, and garbage collection on a regular and permanent basis.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, stated during a briefing that action has been initiated to reclaim all government land and properties currently under the control of land mafia.
The Chief Minister directed the relevant departments to address issues related to sanitation, drainage, and traffic on a permanent basis and to prioritize practical steps for the beautification of the city. He stated that urgent measures are being taken to transform Quetta into a modern, clean, and well-organized model city equipped with urban facilities.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that this campaign cannot be made sustainable without public cooperation. The Chief Minister instructed that a wide-scale awareness campaign be launched to raise public consciousness and ensure their active participation.
He said that providing facilities to the public is our government’s top priority, and with the cooperation of citizens, we will transform Quetta into an exemplary and beautiful city.” The meeting affirmed that the “Safa Quetta Program” is not just a temporary campaign, but a long-term initiative aimed at bringing lasting improvement to the city of Quetta.
