100,870 out of 148,114 students declared pass: BRC Zhob & Loralai students clinch top positions in BISE annual Matric examination

QUETTA: The students of Balochistan Residential College (BRC) Zhob and Loralai outshined all others in the annual examinations of matriculation conducted by the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Quetta.
While the student of BRC Zhob, Aftab Alam bearing Roll No. 651563 clinched first position in the matriculation examination by obtaining 1051 marks out of 1100, the BRC Loralai’ student Muhammad Hashir bearing Roll No. 250514 secured second position by getting 1043 marks while the students of same institution (BRC Loralai), namely Muhammad Tufail and Saqib Karim shared third position with 1038 marks.
Declaring the result of annual matric examination here at his office on Tuesday morning, the Chairman BISE, Muhammad Ishaq Baloch told that a total of 148,114 students had appeared in the examination, out of them, 100,870 were declared successful. The pass percentage remained 68.10 percent in the overall matric examination, he informed.
In 9th class examination, a total of 69,275 had appeared and 32,067 could pass showing pass percentage as 46,29 percent. Similarly, in 10th class examination, 68,803 students out of total 78,839 were declared successful showing the pass percentage of 87.27 percent, he added.
The Chairman BISE, who was flanked by Secretary, Muhammad Azeem Sajdi and other senior staff of the board, extended congratulations to the successful students, especially those who secured positions in the examination.
He said that the nation has great expectations from these young people and hoped that they would brighten the name of the country and nation especially their province in future.
He particularly thanked the values teachers, staff of the board and especially examinations department, result branch and IT section on conducting the examinations and preparing results.
Meanwhile, in response to a question, the Chairman of the Board stated that Controller of Examinations Abida Kakar was relieved of her duties due to an ongoing inquiry. He mentioned that although the Controller is like a sister to them, it is standard procedure to remove someone from their position during an official inquiry.
He further stated that complaints had been received against the Controller, and senior authorities are looking into the matter. The Chairman explained that the Controller was involved in all aspects of the matric annual examinations-from deciding examination centers to appointing staff and overseeing the process until the results.
He also noted that they are currently reviewing the matter regarding the Controller’s refusal to sign the matriculation results.
It may be mentioned here that a day earlier, Controller of Examinations Abida Kakar had alleged that she was excluded from the result finalization process and consequently refused to sign the matric examination results.
