The Governor of Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhel, has praised the Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) for prioritizing local employment in its project. A delegation of graduates from the RDMC International Graduate Development Program 2023, who recently completed their 18-month on-the-job training in Argentina, met with the Governor at the Governor’s House.
The RDMC team, led by Country Manager, Drar Jamali, briefed the Governor on the project’s progress and social welfare initiatives. The Governor was informed that 74% of the project’s employees are from Balochistan, highlighting the company’s commitment to local hiring. The company has also sent 18 young engineers from Balochistan for training in its operational mines in Argentina and Zambia.
The Governor appreciated the company’s efforts to develop local talent and promote economic opportunities in the region. The meeting showcased the company’s dedication to fostering positive relationships with the local community and contributing to the socio-economic development of Balochistan.
