10,000 saplings distributed in the first phase of the tree planting campaign in Mirpurkhas Division

Mirpurkhas, July 21, 2025 : A grand project to plant one lakh trees is underway in Mirpurkhas Division, with ten thousand saplings distributed in its first phase. This campaign has been named “Green Mirpurkhas Division”. This project has been initiated in collaboration with the Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas, Faisal Ahmed Uqaili, his staff, and Faraz Green Pakistan.

Chairman District Council Mir Anwar Ali Talpur, addressing the sapling distribution ceremony at the Commissioner’s office, emphasized the importance of tree planting against climate change and pollution. He encouraged the nurturing of the plants.

Commissioner Uqaili affirmed that one lakh trees will be planted across the division. The initial batch of ten thousand saplings is being allocated based on applications received through online requests. He assured continuous monitoring of the plants’ growth.

Uqaili clarified that the purpose of this distribution is to combat the consequences of climate change and encourage environmental protection enthusiasts. He also reiterated the divisional administration’s commitment to preventing deforestation and asked the media to ensure its coverage for prompt action against any such incident.

The founder of Faraz Green Pakistan, Sarfaraz, explained that the distribution is being facilitated through his organization because of their keen interest and Commissioner Uqaili’s commitment.

Several dignitaries, including Talpur, Uqaili, and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rasheed Masood Khan, symbolically planted saplings at the Commissioner Complex. An awareness rally was also launched from the complex to highlight the importance of tree planting.
