BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER MEETS GOVERNOR SINDH KAMRAN KHAN TESSORI; DISCUSSION HELD ON EDUCATION, HEALTH, WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, AND GAZA SITUATION

Karachi (August 1) The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ms. Jane Marriott, called on Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor House Karachi in a significant meeting where matters of mutual interest were discussed. British Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Lance Domm and Political Adviser Ms. Huda Ikram were also present during the meeting.

Key issues discussed included education, healthcare, women’s welfare and empowerment, strengthening bilateral relations, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Governor Sindh appreciated the UK’s stance on the Gaza situation and thanked the High Commissioner for the resumption of PIA flights to the UK.

Ms. Jane Marriott also held a meeting with the First Lady of Sindh, Mrs. Nabiah Kamran Tessori.

Earlier, Governor Sindh briefed the delegation that 50,000 youth are currently enrolled in IT courses across the province, with many earning substantial monthly incomes even during their training. He also shared how the “Bell of Hope” initiative at the Governor House is enabling swift grievance redressal for visitors, thereby restoring public confidence.

The British High Commissioner termed the Governor’s initiatives a significant step toward public welfare and said such efforts could contribute meaningfully to poverty alleviation.
